The client had a compelling need to address business and data usage across the Central Data Warehouse environment and was looking for a Metadata Management reporting capability from the IBM InfoSphere Metadata Workbench tool

Technology Stack

The Client has invested heavily in IBM technology and has procured high-value hardware and software related to IBM AIX/Linux based System-P/X hardware and IBM InfoSphere Information Server Product family comprising of DataStage, Information Analyzer, Business Glossary, MDM and Metadata Workbench.

Client's Challenges

The client has a diverse platform of applications ranging from Logical and Physical Data Models in ER/Studio, Reporting Universes from SAP Business Objects (BO), Centralized Data Warehouse and Data Marts housed in Oracle 11g, which also included Staging Tables and Conformed Tables and application specific data stores (MDM, IDS). The 100's of ETL jobs were designed and developed in IBM InfoSphere DataStage, Data profiled in IBM InfoSphere Information Analyzer, and 100's of data mappings in Microsoft Excel that AVS converted in IBM InfoSphere FastTrack so that FastTrack can be set as a de-facto tool for data mapping and business requirement going forward and leveraged for collecting crucial enterprise Metadata.


The Contract - Client management was impressed with the depth and expertise inherent in our proposal and contracted with AVS for the delivery of a major enterprise Metadata Management Solution.

The Result - The Metadata Management initiative was delivered on time and under budget. The application was fully in agreement with user expectations, and it performed flawlessly from day one. After handing over the fully documented application with cook books, best practices to the client staff, they felt immediate relief.

The Relationship - As a result of this highly successful undertaking AVS has built a strong relationship with this particular client. . Since than, AVS has been introduced to other IT departments at the client and taken on additional assignments.

The Chief Information Officer later moved on to another huge Financial company and provided great reference for AVS Systems to get in and be considered for a very crucial BASELII deployment and delivery
